Growing Up Post Truth
๐ FRIDAY 10 AUGUST 2018 ๐ 1:30 PM - 2:15 PM ๐ ULUMBARRA THEATRE
ZANA FRAILLON, HYEONSEO LEE: HOST JO LAMPERT
For many young people, the world is now an alien place, where their homeland is no longer an option, but other places seem not to want them. To speak on behalf of those who seek asylum is not simple when there's so much conflicting information. Jo Lampert asks writers Hyeonseo Lee and Zana Fraillon what the idea "post-truth" means for them and for those who are looking for ways to start a new life.
Pass (including Youth Pass) or ticket $15/$12 concession
This session is also a Text Marks the Spot event: available for schools

Writing For Curious Kids

What's that? How does it work? Who made that happen? Are we there yet? Thank goodness there are books to help answer questions from curious kids. Writers of books for young readers often remember how curious they were as children, and how much they loved finding books with answers to their questions. Discovery Centre's Dana Twycroft talks to Zana Fraillon, Samantha Grover and Belinda Murrell about the curiosity that drives both writer and reader.
