This Is Going To Hurt
Grief hits hard – especially when you’re young. From travelling across a hostile country after the death of your mother to literally navigating the afterlife in search of your dad, there are many ways to deal with loss. In their work, authors Leanne Hall (The Gaps), Zana Fraillon (The Lost Soul Atlas) and Cath Moore (Metal Fish, Falling Snow) show teens handling painful realities with humour, ingenuity and the help of their friends. They sit down with Youth Curator Neva Mikulic to discuss grief, friendship and simply coping.

YA Gala: Protect Them At All Costs!
Each of us – including your favourite YA authors – has a treasured protagonist, antagonist or side character who we firmly believe should have nothing bad ever happen to them. Join Zana Fraillon (The Lost Atlas), Garth Nix (The Left-Handed Booksellers of London), Will Kostakis (Rebel Gods), Gary Lonesborough (The Boy from the Mish), Jenna Guillaume (You Were Made for Me) and Leanne Hall (The Gaps) as they share which characters they would protect at all costs from malevolent authors and literary harm. Hosted by Amelia Lush.
